Best Company Cars 2023
Company cars are an important business asset, getting you and your employees from A to B and playing a part in the first impression you make on clients and customers. It’s certainly important that you choose your company car fleet carefully.
When searching for the right vehicles for your business, you’ll need to consider their appearance, their running costs, the amount of Benefit-In-Kind tax that your employees will be liable to pay and their dependability, amongst other things.
Below, we’ve listed some of the vehicles that we think will fit a range of businesses’ company car requirements! Read on for a look at our picks for the best company cars on the market in 2023.
Firstly though, let's take a look at what a company car scheme is and how it works.
What is a company car scheme?
A company car scheme is an arrangement which enables employees to use a company-owned vehicle for both business and personal use for the duration of their employment. Many employers offer a company car scheme as an employee perk or for those employees who regularly travel for business purposes. Those driving a company car are liable to pay Benefit-In-Kind (BIK) tax. Your BIK tax depends on various factors such as the vehicle’s market price, engine size, and fuel type so these are important factors to consider when choosing your ideal company car. Sometimes instead of a company car scheme, employers will offer a car allowance scheme. For our guide to the advantages and disadvantages of a car allowance vs. company car, please click here.
Volkswagen ID.3
This fully-electric vehicle comes with its fair share of advantages to offer as a company car, though it’s the potential freedom from Benefit-In-Kind tax that we’d place at the top of the list. Other features of the ID.3 include a 385-litre boot, 10-inch infotainment display and excellent range capability, all housed within its appealing futuristic exterior. There are three battery pack options available – 45kWh, 58kWh and 77kWh – so you can select the perfect model for your business’ requirements. Well-built and trendy, the ID.3 is award-winning in its class and has an excellent range capability. This makes it a great company car for regular business travelling, such as driving to and from client meetings. As an alternative to the Nissan Leaf, the Volkswagen ID.3 is a competitively priced electric car.
